When I drafted before I enter this class I would just start writing and that would just be my first draft not putting hardly any thought into my papers and just adding what I think was needed during the editing stages. Now that I have gained some new strategies I jot a few ideas down and write little info around them making the structure of my paper before I even start my drafting process.
Thinking back on apex I really didn't want to spend my summer this way but now that I have completed the program I am actually glad that I had this opportunity because I will now be ahead in the fall of my freshmen year of college. not only is the head start a plus but I was able to receive seven credit for the price of non. being able to spend this time on campus have showed me also that campus life really isn't for me, I'm more of a private person who would like more alone time so this fall I will be finding a nice size apartment.
With my education I want go on to be the best that I can be in life. living my dream becoming a successful business owner and funeral director. I will own and direct my own funeral service, helping families go through their time of grief.

Coming into the summer bridge I only knew one person which was Jasmine Burrell. Others called me antisocial because I really didn't say much to them but I'm just not the type to just be friendly or try to make friends. Now if you see me you wouldn't get that Impression because there's still people that I don't talk to but you'll see me walking and talking to a few other students that are in my group. I wouldn't call all of them friends but the ones that I would are Jasmine Adore 'Ray and Raymond. I eat, study, workout, and do group project with them all the time.
I believe that sample three was the best one because its clearly structured. I was able to see the thesis throughout the paper, unlike in the other samples.
I favorite moment in english1010 is when I finally got the understanding of the rhetorical analysis paper to the point where I was able to write it efficiently. I think the most important thing I learned was the different types of writing that we faced throughout the course.
Out of the workshop the most helpful piece of advise that I got was to go back into my paper and make sure I'm focusing on the what assignment is asking for, and to include it in my thesis.
Before I became a student at Wayne State University my drafting consisted of reading background information on what ill be writing on. Then I would write down major bullet point to make sure I cover the important details that I pulled of the information given. After this I would just start drafting on paper and go from there.

zero tolerance

These article cover the how some students have did something in school that caused the police to get involved. This students may end up going to juvenile which means some don t graduate from school so on top of the drop out rate this put an increase on the number of students who do not graduate. They may not think it but they will be affected by this in the long run running into taxes because the economy take loses when the graduating rate decreases. In the second article it wasn't little things that students did but big thing that caused them to go to jail and not to graduate still putting a hole in the economy.

plagiarism

In class we played a game where we had to find goblins, and after finding one a question popped up on plagiarism. Having four answers to pick out of you need to choose the one best fit for the question and you have to answer correctly to proceed to the next goblin. I learn that even using pictures that's isn't yours to give visuals on your work is a form of plagiarism. So you really have to be careful of the material you use.

If I could change anything about my artilce I would make it so the text is more understanding for readers to get the main point of professor McLeod studies. I would also change the way she laid out details throughout the article.

In the article "Shitty first Drafts" author Anne Lamott basically states that everyone start off with a draft that may not be anywhere near standers. Although if you are to put a little more effort into the piece of and take your time editing and revising to come up with a better second draft you would see an increase value of the paper. After if you would have someone else with higher thinking strategies than you edit and revise also when polishing up your final draft you should notice that you will have a well written paper. So just because your first draft isn't what you expect it to be at least take the time to do one revision and justify from there.

workshop

The most useful piece of advice I received in workshop today was to use better transition words to get the reader to understand why a sentence follows one another  Overall, this workshop experience will help me improve my paper by developing a paper that flows.

my frist two weeks

After completing my first two weeks of apex I am proud to say that I have a every good feeling about the weeks to come. It isn't as hard as they tried to make it seem like it would be in the beginning. It takes a lot of self discipline and focus to be successful when you have so many rules and regulations to live by. I like the program and I'm ecstatic that I got the chance to be apart of. I am enjoying my experience and I'm learning what it will really take to have three more successful years of college.

Reading "Beyond the Yellow Highlighter" taught me that as I read if I write the thoughts that are going though my head down as I go it will increase my understanding of any text that I'm reading. After reading this we tried it in class and I found it every helpful even on text that I don't like.I think its helps the most on text that don't interest you or you find more complex than others.
When I use annotating I don't go through highlighting the key facts in the passage but I write on the side of the text any questions, thoughts, or important facts that stand out. this way when I get done I can go back and answer any questions or confusing that I may have had. After finding the answers to my questions reading the passage again with all my side notes included really analyze the text to were I can write a fully detailed summary on any piece of reading.
I would recommend annotating to anyone because it breaks down your thinking process and helps you get a clear understanding on what you have read. Writing a paper after annotating passages could make your process alot easier because your main idea and thoughts that you want to include will be on the side, which means you will have an outline of what you have read already in your own words.

yellow

The  technique I fount most helpful out of the yellow highlighter was the skill of annotating. Annotating is writing down any qusetions or thoughts that come to mind as you are reading a selection. This skill helps me understand what  am reading and if I don't understand I write the question down next to the confusing that I'm am having out the passage and later can find myself able to answer my question with my thoughts I write down along the side of the paper.

Hi my name is Cazmere McMillan and my greatest strengths as a writer I would have to say is my choice of words. I feel as if my greatest weakens is grammar. It’s weird that my strength is my choice of word but my weakness is grammar. I say this because the way I state things may be in a unique way but isn’t the correct way to say what I have to say grammatically. In my English class I’m and hoping to gain strengths in my weak and strong spots. I will take all that I learn and put it to use in the future when I become a funeral director I will have to make obituary, type letter to families, etc. I’m hoping to take a lot from this class that I believe with benefit me in the long run in my career. Currently I use writing when doing homework for school and when I write a letter to my brother or even when I get bored and just want to jot down a few thoughts. I have to reread things over more than once to comprehend what the passage is trying to get through to its readers.  I’m not really a big reader but if a book holds my interest I will read it. Twilight saga happens to be me favorite book series of all time.
